Seg\u00fan los \u00faltimos reportes epidemiol\u00f3gicos, se han confirmado 18 casos y siete decesos.<\/p>\n<p>En este contexto, la infect\u00f3loga Elena Obieta ha ofrecido un an\u00e1lisis detallado sobre la situaci\u00f3n actual y los riesgos espec\u00edficos asociados a la cepa Andes, la \u00fanica variante conocida por su capacidad de transmisi\u00f3n entre humanos, que gan\u00f3 notoriedad tras un brote a bordo del crucero MV Hondius, que parti\u00f3 desde Ushuaia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEn general, el Hantavirus es una enfermedad que cuando es atribuida a cepa Andes tiene contagio interhumano. Y eso est\u00e1 descrito desde fines de los a\u00f1os 90. Por primera vez se describe esta condici\u00f3n con este virus en particular de la familia hantavirus\u201d, destac\u00f3 la especialista.<\/p>\n<p>Obieta explic\u00f3 que el incremento de casos esta temporada se debe a la mayor disponibilidad de alimento para los roedores en Argentina. Adem\u00e1s, agreg\u00f3: \u201cNos metemos m\u00e1s en su h\u00e1bitat, con que modificamos condiciones del ambiente para construir una caba\u00f1a, para lo que fuere el cambio clim\u00e1tico, todas estas cosas favorecen que interactuemos m\u00e1s con los roedores y que estemos m\u00e1s expuestos a inhalar y adquirir el virus\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>La situaci\u00f3n se volvi\u00f3 cr\u00edtica con el paciente afectado en Chubut, quien actualmente se encuentra en una unidad de terapia intensiva, lo que ha reavivado la importancia de seguir estrictamente los protocolos de prevenci\u00f3n para contactos estrechos.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSi es de Andes que se transmite de humano a humano. Si es de transmisi\u00f3n interhumana, te ten\u00e9s que aislar con barbijo, ten\u00e9s que monitorearse la temperatura y los s\u00edntomas, y eventualmente, seg\u00fan disponibilidad, habr\u00e1 que hacer estudios peri\u00f3dicamente cada semana como para ver si se encuentran part\u00edculas virales en tu sangre\u201d. Este aislamiento preventivo debe mantenerse durante 45 d\u00edas, el per\u00edodo m\u00e1ximo estipulado para la incubaci\u00f3n del virus.<\/p>\n<p>En cuanto a los factores de riesgo, la infect\u00f3loga subray\u00f3 que no se puede concluir que los adultos mayores sean los m\u00e1s vulnerables \u00fanicamente por su edad.
