Buenos Aires, 11 enero (NA) \u2013 El tenista montenegrino nacionalizado canadiense, Milos Raonic, se retir\u00f3 este domingo de la actividad profesional a sus 36 a\u00f1os, luego de casi dos d\u00e9cadas de carrera donde logr\u00f3 ser top 3 del mundo en 2016.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan pudo constatar la Agencia Noticias Argentinas, el oriundo de la ciudad montenegrina de Podgorica public\u00f3 en sus redes sociales un sentido mensaje para anunciar su retiro del tenis: \u201cHa llegado el momento, me retiro del tenis. Es un momento que sabes que llegar\u00e1 alg\u00fan d\u00eda, pero por alguna raz\u00f3n nunca te sientes preparado. Estoy m\u00e1s preparado que nunca. El tenis ha sido mi pasi\u00f3n y mi obsesi\u00f3n durante la mayor parte de mi vida\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe sido la persona m\u00e1s afortunada por haber podido vivir y cumplir mis sue\u00f1os. Pude presentarme cada d\u00eda y concentrarme en mejorar, ver ad\u00f3nde me llevar\u00eda eso, y jugar a un juego que descubr\u00ed a los 8 a\u00f1os por pura suerte. De alguna manera, esto se convirti\u00f3 en mi obsesi\u00f3n y mi infancia, y luego en mi profesi\u00f3n y mi vida\u201d agreg\u00f3.<\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s, Raonic agradeci\u00f3 a los fan\u00e1ticos, a los entrenadores y equipos con los que trabaj\u00f3, a los ATP y Grands Slams y a Canad\u00e1, el pa\u00eds que acoji\u00f3 a su familia que escapaba de las guerras yugoslavas que decantaron con la independizaci\u00f3n de Montenegro como pa\u00eds.<\/p>\n

Raonic fue profesional en el tenis desde 2008 y su pico m\u00e1ximo en el deporte fue cuando alcanz\u00f3 el tercer puesto en el Ranking ATP, el 21 de noviembre de 2016.<\/p>\n

El montenegrino disput\u00f3 una sola final de Grand Slam y fue en Wimbledon 2016; donde cay\u00f3 ante el brit\u00e1nico Andy Murray.
