Buenos Aires, 17 noviembre (NA) \u2013- Cient\u00edficos chinos descubrieron una nueva especie de comadreja en una reserva natural nacional ubicada en la provincia de Sichuan, en el suroeste de China, a la cual denominaron \u201cMustela mopbie\u201d, seg\u00fan inform\u00f3 el Instituto de Zoolog\u00eda de la Academia de Ciencias de China. El hallazgo se public\u00f3 este mes en la revista internacional Journal of Systematics and Evolution.<\/p>\n

Seg\u00fan pudo saber la Agencia Noticias Argentinas, en julio y agosto de 2024, un equipo conjunto del Instituto de Zoolog\u00eda, la Universidad Normal del Oeste de China y la Universidad de Sichuan reconoci\u00f3 tres espec\u00edmenes de comadreja mientras realizaba un estudio de biodiversidad de peque\u00f1os mam\u00edferos en la Reserva Nacional de Naturaleza Dafengding, en el distrito aut\u00f3nomo de la etnia yi de Mabian, en Sichuan.<\/p>\n

De esta manera, al integrar datos gen\u00f3micos y morfol\u00f3gicos, el equipo confirm\u00f3 que se trataba de una especie nueva y la nombr\u00f3 \u00abMustela mopbie\u00bb. Esta nueva especie de comadreja es de tama\u00f1o peque\u00f1o y es capaz de entrar en grietas estrechas y madrigueras para capturar insectos y peque\u00f1os roedores.<\/p>\n

Asimismo, los investigadores creen que este descubrimiento proporciona informaci\u00f3n importante sobre la diferenciaci\u00f3n de especies dentro del grupo, as\u00ed como una nueva perspectiva sobre c\u00f3mo los peque\u00f1os carn\u00edvoros se adaptan a diferentes entornos a trav\u00e9s de la variaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica frente a un contexto ecol\u00f3gico complejo. <\/p>\n
