Las aerol\u00edneas de Am\u00e9rica Latina y el Caribe experimentaron un incremento interanual del 1,9% en la demanda de carga a\u00e9rea durante mayo, mientras que la capacidad de bodega se elev\u00f3 un 5,6% en comparaci\u00f3n con el mismo mes del a\u00f1o anterior, seg\u00fan datos proporcionados por la Asociaci\u00f3n Internacional de Transporte A\u00e9reo (IATA).<\/p>\n

La demanda total de carga, medida en toneladas-kil\u00f3metro de carga (CTK), mostr\u00f3 un crecimiento del 6,0% en relaci\u00f3n con mayo de 2025, alcanzando un 6,5% en operaciones internacionales, de acuerdo con el informe consultado. Por otro lado, la capacidad de bodega, expresada en toneladas-kil\u00f3metro de carga disponibles (ACTK), tuvo un incremento del 1,9% con respecto a mayo de 2025, siendo del 2,8% en operaciones internacionales. En este contexto, la demanda de carga a\u00e9rea se increment\u00f3 un 6% interanual, con las regiones de \u00c1frica, Asia-Pac\u00edfico, Europa y Am\u00e9rica del Norte superando las expectativas.<\/p>\n

En contraste, las aerol\u00edneas de Oriente Medio reportaron una ca\u00edda del 8,9% interanual, resultado de los efectos persistentes del conflicto en esa regi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Willie Walsh, Director General de la IATA, coment\u00f3: \u201cEl buen desempe\u00f1o de mayo, junto con factores macroecon\u00f3micos, genera un optimismo cauteloso sobre las perspectivas del transporte a\u00e9reo de carga para el resto del a\u00f1o. El comercio y la producci\u00f3n manufacturera est\u00e1n en crecimiento. Las aerol\u00edneas han ajustado sus operaciones para alinearse con los cambios en la demanda y las necesidades de la cadena de suministro\u201d. A\u00f1adi\u00f3 que el aumento de los ingresos y los mayores niveles de ocupaci\u00f3n ayudan a mitigar el impacto del incremento en los costos del combustible. Aunque el a\u00f1o sigue siendo complicado, la firme demanda y la capacidad de adaptaci\u00f3n de las aerol\u00edneas son evidentes.<\/p>\n

Es importante considerar diversos factores en el entorno operativo, incluyendo un crecimiento del comercio mundial del 5,0% interanual, lo que marca 25 meses consecutivos de expansi\u00f3n. <\/p>\n

Durante mayo, los precios del combustible para aviones disminuyeron un 16,3% en comparaci\u00f3n con el mes anterior, aunque todav\u00eda se ubicaban un 93,5% por encima de los niveles del a\u00f1o previo. La actividad manufacturera global continu\u00f3 siendo s\u00f3lida, aunque los pedidos de exportaci\u00f3n mostraron se\u00f1ales de debilidad. El \u00cdndice de Compras (PMI) de la Producci\u00f3n Manufacturera Mundial alcanz\u00f3 los 53,5, mientras que el \u00cdndice de Nuevos Pedidos de Exportaci\u00f3n se situ\u00f3 en 49,6, indicando que el crecimiento del transporte a\u00e9reo de carga fue impulsado por flujos comerciales espec\u00edficos y no por un aumento generalizado de las exportaciones.<\/p>\n

Las aerol\u00edneas de Asia-Pac\u00edfico experimentaron un crecimiento del 8,0% interanual en la demanda de carga a\u00e9rea en mayo, con una capacidad que aument\u00f3 un 5,1%. Las aerol\u00edneas de Am\u00e9rica del Norte tambi\u00e9n reportaron un incremento del 10,5% en la demanda, mientras que la capacidad en esa regi\u00f3n creci\u00f3 un 2,4%. En Europa, se observ\u00f3 un aumento del 6,7% en la demanda de carga a\u00e9rea, con un incremento en capacidad del 2,2%. Por otro lado, las aerol\u00edneas de Oriente Medio experimentaron la mayor contracci\u00f3n, con una ca\u00edda del 8,9% en la demanda y una reducci\u00f3n del 9,2% en su capacidad.<\/p>\n

Las aerol\u00edneas africanas destacaron en el panorama, con un aumento del 13,3% en la demanda de carga a\u00e9rea, posicion\u00e1ndose como el mejor desempe\u00f1o entre las distintas regiones, mientras que la capacidad creci\u00f3 un 1,3% interanual.<\/p>\n

En cuanto al rendimiento del transporte a\u00e9reo de carga, se observaron diferencias notables en las principales rutas comerciales, con el crecimiento liderado por los corredores entre Asia y Norteam\u00e9rica, seguido de \u00c1frica-Asia, el transporte intraeuropeo y Europa-Asia.
